About Lyuba Vasileva
Not everything that shapes our lives arrives with a name.
Some things reveal themselves only through light.
A horizon that lingers after the sea has vanished into mist.
The quiet dignity of a weathered wall.
The fragile balance of an empty vessel.
A branch reaching toward the sky.
A figure emerging from silence, only to disappear into it again.
They ask for nothing except to be truly seen.
This is where my work begin.
I do not choose between landscape and portrait, between still life and abstraction. They are simply different dialects of the same language — a language spoken by light, matter and the invisible presence that lingers within them.
Every surface grows slowly. Oil, handmade papers and textured surfaces are allowed to meet as living elements, carrying traces of time, touch and transformation. I rarely seek perfection. I seek resonance — that delicate instant when form begins to breathe with a life beyond itself.
Painting, for me, is neither the representation of the visible nor the invention of another world.
It is an act of quiet attention.
A way of standing before the ordinary until it reveals the extraordinary it has always held.
Perhaps every painting is, in the end, an invitation.
Not to understand.
But to dwell, for a little while, in a world where beauty still asks nothing of us except that we remain present.
Lyuba Vasileva is a contemporary artist working at the intersection of memory, nature and inner landscape.
